Discovery’s ALL IN Mission Campaign
Discovery exists to share Christ with compassion and develop followers fully devoted to Christ.
The beginning of the Bible? God’s promise to Abraham to bless all nations through him. The end of the Bible? A picture of heaven that promises to include every tribe, every nation, every language worshipping Jesus. There is no escaping the beautiful scope of God’s heart for the entire world.
And here’s the breathtaking part: the vehicle through which God is going to accomplish this glorious vision? None other than you and me – the Church.
In every age, God’s people have pushed back the world’s darkness by making Jesus known and bringing His light. No adventure greater. No challenge higher. No goal worthier…. Let’s do this, Discovery!
Missions starts at home, and Discovery is growing our local Northwest outreach. We have with NAIM–The North American Indigenous Ministries a community of missionaries serving Jesus Christ in a variety of capacities in Western Canada, Washington and Montana.
Also new in the coming year is our relationship with a new church plant in Vancouver, B.C., a Punjabi church of recent immigrants from Pakistan.
Finally, we’ll continue supporting our three church plants in Tacoma.
In rural Mexico, people with special needs have few options for a bright future. Eternal Anchor exists to offer hope to children and adults with special needs and their families by providing education, training, and therapy in a grace-filled, faith-based context.
Working out of a local community center, Eternal Anchor started Centro CYSNE, a school that has grown to include 44 children and their families. Eternal Anchor also offers a life skills class on the weekends to adults in the community with special needs. And many more families are reached through the yearly Love Extended campaign, where therapists offer consults, family training sessions and a conference to community members.
Our dream is to see 50 individuals from Discovery take part in short term missions this year. There are numerous trips to consider … attend an informational meeting to learn more!
Tacoma Disaster Training
Discovery has a burden for those members of our Christian family that endure hostility — in over 60 countries around the world — simply for following Jesus Christ. Last year, we gave $12,000 to support refugees in Iraq by supporting the work of Open Doors.
We will continue to support Open Doors in their work with the refugee community in Iraq. As the situation changes, there is a growing need to train Christian leaders how to recognize and help their congregations and communities suffering from war trauma.
These Christian leaders, who have stayed in their communities despite the danger, are often the first to respond to families in crisis.
Our Goal: $16,000
God is blessing the work of Eternal Anchor and new staff and resident housing is needed. We’ll provide funds to help finish current building projects.
Our Goal: $16,000
Funds raised will be used to support the North America Indigenous Ministries, the Punjabi church plant in Vancouver, BC, and our own three church plants in Tacoma and Olympia.
Persecuted Church Our Goal: $16,000
Supports trauma training for Christian leaders in Iraq.
Our Goal: $16,000
We want to see 50 members of Discovery join a short term missions team this year. Our Send Fund provides financial assistance to help make that possible.
