Sphere Standards International Disaster Relief Training

Why: To be prepared to be deployed as a priority volunteer, able to respond in the initial and following stages of a significant disaster.

What: The Sphere Project provides one of the most widely known and internationally recognized sets of common principles and universal minimum standards in life-saving areas of humanitarian response. Successful completion of this 5-day training provides an internationally recognized certification used by governments & NGOs to prioritize disaster relief volunteers. We offer this training in partnership with Baptist Global Response, a widely respected domestic and international disaster relief organization. Certification connects you to BGRs initial-stage calls-to-response in the event of disasters.

When: March 6-10, 2017, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Where: Tacoma, WA — Specific Location TBD

Cost: $250 per participant. This cost also includes Sphere Project course materials. Upon registration, you will receive an email directing you to the online payment link. Payment must be received before registration is final.

Notes: This training generally costs $4000/participant — however, Baptist Global Response is providing this training at cost… so this is A VERY UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY! For Discovery Community Church attendees, partial scholarships are available. No childcare available.
